Job Description
As a Radiation Therapist at Henry Ford Health, you will have the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art technology in Radiation Oncology at the Brownstown location. This position offers a unique chance to serve a diverse patient population and contribute to advancing cancer care in the Detroit metropolitan area. General Summary
Under general supervision administers radiation treatments to patients, as prescribed by the physician, utilizing specialized equipment including
Linear accelerator,
High Dose Rate (HDR) After loader,
Computed Tomography.
Qualifications
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Certifications/Licensures Required
A.R.R.T. Radiation Therapy Technology Certification or registry eligible
Must meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities, standards and behaviors as outlined in the HFHS’ Customer Service Policy
Working Conditions
Normal office environment with minimal exposure to noise, dust, or extreme temperatures.
Lifting of patients, moving & pushing wheelchairs / stretchers and lifting of equipment, above head, up to 50lbs.
Potential exposure to radiation; however, adherence to safety procedures minimizes likelihood of danger.
Frequent interaction with emotionally depressed and terminally/critically ill patients.
