Radiation Therapist job at McLaren Health Care. Detroit, MI. *Position Summary:* Under general supervision, the radiation therapist safely and correctly operates radiation producing equipment to simulate patients for treatment and administer radiation therapy treatments, as prescribed by the radiation oncologist.
• Responsibilities:*
• Administers radiation treatments as prescribed by the radiation oncologist.
• Maintains EMR and other documentation related to treatment simulation and delivery.
• Assists in simulation procedures, as ordered by the radiation oncologist, for the purpose of treatment planning.
• With supervision, fabricates treatment immobilization devices and treatment aids, as ordered by the radiation oncologist, for the purpose of treatment planning.
• Participates in imaging and alignment procedures for radiation treatment delivery, as directed by the radiation oncologist.
• Qualifications:*

_Required:_
• Associate degree in radiation therapy or in final clinical rotation of accredited radiation therapy program.
• Eligible for board certification in radiation therapy from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Obtains board certification within one year of employment as a radiation therapist.
• BLS certification as healthcare provider or obtains within 6 months of employment as a radiation therapist.

_Preferred: _
• Bachelor’s degree in radiation therapy.
• Active member of the American Society of Radiation Therapists (ASRT)
