Role Description
The Radiation Therapist is a full-time, on-site role based in Montgomery, AL. This position is responsible for accurately delivering prescribed radiation treatments, operating radiation therapy equipment, and following all safety protocols. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and positioning patients for treatment, verifying treatment plans and machine settings, monitoring patients during procedures, and documenting treatment details in clinical systems. The Radiation Therapist collaborates with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and nursing staff to support individualized care plans, responds to patient questions and concerns, and participates in quality assurance activities to maintain high standards of care.
Qualifications
• Candidates should possess valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) credentials in Radiation Therapy and meet applicable state licensure requirements.
• Candidates should possess strong skills in radiation safety and adherence to regulatory and institutional safety standards.
• Candidates should possess practical knowledge of dosimetry and radiation delivery techniques to ensure accurate and effective treatment.
• Candidates should possess a solid understanding of radiation medicine principles and basic oncology concepts to support patient care.
• Candidates should possess a completed accredited program in Radiation Therapy or related field, along with experience in clinical radiation oncology settings.
• Candidates should possess effective communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
• Candidates should possess a commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care and the ability to support individuals and families during treatment.
