Role: Radiation Therapist

Responsibilities: Administers prescribed radiation therapy, monitors patients during treatment, schedules appointments, and educates patients on procedures and side effects. Acts as a liaison between patients and care teams, observes for unusual reactions, and ensures safety regulations are followed. Participates in CT simulation and other treatments, mentors new staff and students, and supports department equipment training. Maintains inventory and stays current on advancements in radiation therapy.

Qualifications & Skills: Requires an Associate’s Degree or Technical School Diploma in Radiation Therapy, with Basic Life Support certification and ARRT registration. Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree. Demonstrates analytical problem-solving, confidentiality, effective communication, and experience with electronic health records. Physical ability to lift 40-50 lbs and perform patient transfers is necessary.

Key Duties: Delivering treatment, patient monitoring, safety compliance, training and mentoring team members, and staying updated on industry developments.
