Job Description
Panhandle Cancer Care is looking for a Full Time Radiation Therapist.
JOB SUMMARY
The Radiation Therapist, under the supervision of a Radiation Oncologist, performs radiation therapy procedures on patients as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist using proper positioning techniques, immobilization devices, and safe knowledgeable use of linear accelerator and CT/SIM machines.
Machine: Varian iX with MV, KV, and CBCT imaging & GE Discovery CT
EMR/R&V (record and verify): ARIA
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND EXPECTATIONS
· Performs high-quality radiation therapy procedures and quality imaging according to established protocols, in a timely manner.
· Monitors and reports on any patient side effects to radiation oncologist and nursing staff.
· Provides kind, compassionate and safe care to patients as well as consideration and understanding for families and co-workers. Must possess excellent people skills and treat patients, family members, and co-workers with respect always.
· Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Coordinates and implements daily scheduling working to accommodate patients using discretion for changing or prioritizing appointments.
· Supports CT simulations at AUA clinic on scheduled days.
· Understands and respects the patient’s rights, abides by HIPAA and maintains patient confidentiality.
· Diligent and detailed documentation when using Aria EMR.
· Provides daily and weekly EMR monitoring checks for any prescription and order change.

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Graduate of an ARRT accredited program
Currently registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology, Therapeutic
Current State of Texas license.
Current CPR certification
EXPERIENCE: 1-3 years with a solid understanding of 3-D, IMRT, CBCT, IGRT, VMAT, SRS, and SBRT imaging/treatments.
