Summary

As a Radiation Physicist - Entry Level, you will ensure the safe and precise use of radiation under the direction of the Radiation Oncologist. Your role will encompass overseeing radiation therapy techniques, imaging, and treatment processes, while also engaging in quality assurance testing, calibrating equipment, and implementing new technologies alongside a board-certified medical physicist.

Job Duties
• Conduct timely and accurate quality assurance testing, including patient-specific reviews and equipment calibration, while maintaining detailed documentation.
• Assist in the deployment of new equipment and software, including acceptance, commissioning, and training phases.
• Support repair and maintenance activities, ensuring functionality prior to clinical application.
• Collaborate with physicians, dosimetrists, and colleagues to optimize treatment plans.
• Participate in clinical treatment procedures as dictated by regulatory standards and departmental protocols.
• Provide training and orientation for clinical staff on routine and new procedures, regulations, and technical principles related to Radiation Oncology.

Minimum Qualifications
• Master's Degree in Medical Physics or an equivalent field.
• Demonstrated expertise in radiation physics and its medical applications.
• Proven ability to coordinate radiation treatment and planning activities.
• Comprehensive knowledge of radiation therapy procedures, operational equipment, and patient care techniques.
• Familiarity with radiation protection regulations and standards.
• Proactive in identifying departmental needs.
• ABR - American Board of Radiology Certification - State of Pennsylvania within 2 years or ABMP - American Board of Medical Physicists Certification - State of Pennsylvania within 2 years.

Physical Demands

This position may require lifting and carrying weights between 40-50 lbs, such as moving patients on beds or stretchers, and involves frequent to continuous standing and walking. Clinical staff may need to perform various physical activities including kneeling, bending, and squatting, alongside specific tasks relevant to their role.
