Responsibilities:
• Administer prescribed radiation therapy treatments to patients according to physician-approved treatment plans.
• Operate and maintain radiation therapy equipment safely and effectively.
• Position patients accurately for radiation treatment procedures.
• Verify treatment settings and ensure proper delivery of radiation doses.
• Monitor patients during treatment sessions and respond appropriately to concerns or complications.
• Collaborate with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, dosimetrists, and nursing staff.
• Maintain accurate patient treatment records and documentation.
• Educate patients and families regarding radiation therapy procedures and treatment expectations.
• Follow radiation safety standards, protocols, and regulatory guidelines.
• Conduct routine equipment quality assurance checks and report any issues.
• Assist with treatment simulations and patient treatment planning procedures.
• Provide compassionate support to patients undergoing cancer treatment.
• Monitor patients for treatment side effects and communicate observations to healthcare providers.
• Ensure patient confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Participate in departmental meetings, training programs, and continuing education activities.
Education:
• Associates Other or Accredited Program Other
Certifications:
• ARRT-T - ARRT Radiation Therapy
• BLS - Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS - Amer Red Cross Basic Life Support or BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor
Experience:
• Minimum 2 years Experience in Radiation Therapy Preferred must be graduate of accredited radiation therapy program
