Radiation Oncologist

This locum tenens Radiation Oncology role at a small to mid-size hospital in Astoria, Oregon offers outpatient and clinic-based coverage. The clinician will provide quality cancer care by managing follow-up patients, overseeing on-treatment visits, and utilizing advanced treatment modalities. The position features day shifts from Monday through Friday with no call requirements during periodic coverage periods.

Practice Info

• Small to mid-size hospital providing dedicated radiation oncology services

• Outpatient and clinic-based environment

• On-site support staff includes one oncologist and one APP

• Adult patient population

• Patient volume of 20-30 patients on treatment per day

• Zero new consults

Responsibilities

• Managing follow-up patients

• Overseeing on-treatment visits

• Delivering radiation oncology services utilizing IMRT, IGRT, and SBRT modalities

• Providing periodic vacation coverage for the facility's radiation oncologist

Shift & Schedule

• Dates needed: November 4-6, 2026; March 22-26, 2027; April 7-9, 2027; December 13-31, 2027

• Day shift

• Monday through Friday

• No call required

Requirements

• Board certification in Radiation Oncology required

• Prescriptive authority required

• Active state medical license required
