Job Description
Job Title: Quality Control Microbiologist
Location: Mundelein, IL
Duration: 6 months.
Job Summary:
Looking for a Pharmaceutical Microbiologist with 5+ years of GMP experience to support microbiology and aseptic manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Support aseptic processing and media fills (APS).
Manage Environmental Monitoring (EM) – air, surface, and personnel monitoring.
Perform/review bioburden, microbial enumeration, microbial ID, growth promotion, and BET testing.
Review microbiology data, laboratory records, and GMP documentation.
Handle OOS/OOT, microbial excursions, investigations, RCA, and CAPA.
Support cleanroom, utilities, equipment, cleaning/disinfection, and contamination control.
Prepare/review SOPs, protocols, reports, and technical documents.
Support audits, regulatory inspections, and cross-functional teams.
Must Have:
Bachelors in Microbiology, Biology, or related field.
5+ years pharmaceutical/biotech GMP microbiology experience.
Strong experience in Media Fill, Environmental Monitoring, GMP Lab Operations, BET, investigations, and data trending.
Knowledge of cGMP, FDA requirements, USP microbiology chapters, and aseptic processing.
Quality Control of Microbiology Experience with in sterile manufacturing environment
Hands-on experience planning, executing, and evaluating media fill operations
Aseptic Process Simulation
Establishing alert/action levels bacterial endotoxin BET/LAL & bioburden testing, microbial excursion investigations RCA & CAPA.
