Summary:

The Program Manager will oversee day-to-day operation of the Cancer Program at Pennsylvania Hospital under the direction of the Cancer Program Leadership. The Program Manager will oversee the administrative support staff, nutrition, and social work staff. The Program Manager will lead operational management of the Cancer Risk Evaluation Program and the Palliative Care Program as well as oversee operational development of new programs including Geriatric Oncology. In addition, this position will help support Cancer Program compliance with all regulatory bodies that determine quality such as Commission on Cancer, National Accreditation Program for Breast Cancer and Joint Commission. The Program Manager will help support Development, philanthropy, community outreach and cancer prevention programming, in conjunction with the Cancer Program Leadership. They will provide support to the Supportive Care staff including program development and promotion, marketing, program evaluation. They will assist with budgeting, variance reports, executive summaries, purchasing, and volume statistics.

Accountabilities:

· Oversees operational management of the Cancer Program in conjunction with Cancer Program Leadership.

· Works with internal stakeholders (physicians, nursing and administrative leadership, Pharmacy, CPUP practice, Radiation Oncology, PAH inpatient units, marketing, etc.) to develop systems for optimal program functioning, to develop and operationalize new strategic initiatives, and to maximize efficiency and resource utilization.

· Patient/Staff Satisfaction - Demonstrates Professionalism within the framework of Patient- Centered Care.

· Demonstrates Teamwork by displaying a collaborative relationship with co-workers by consistently treating others with respect and always using open and honest communication. Coordinates and assists with new staff on-boarding and orientation.

· Will work to expand goals of the program through new initiatives and outreach activities. Maintain relationships with donors, patient advocacy groups, community organizations, cancer screening partners.

· Quality/Safety - Actively participates in performance improvement and continues quality improvement activities. Assist with the preparation of quality presentations.

· Fiscal - Coordinates and assists with annual budgeting for the Cancer Program, in collaboration with the Cancer Program Leadership. Coordinates and assists with monthly variance reports for the program. Create executive summaries for capital improvement projects and new program developments which include ROI analysis and volume projections. manages purchasing requests for department. Prepares and distributes monthly volume statistics for supportive care services, CREP and Palliative Care program. Support all volume, revenue, physician and service line data retrieval and analysis.

· Will have direct management of administrative, nutrition, and social work staff. Will serve as operational manager of CREP and Palliative Care programs.

· Requires strong leadership, collaborative planning, management of personnel, information systems, quality and performance improvement and regulatory compliance.

· Regulatory – Maintains current knowledge of CoC, NAPBC, TJC requirements. Assists with the collection of documents and the preparation of accreditation applications and submissions.

Credentials:

Education or Equivalent Experience:
• Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required).
• Education Specialization:
Nursing, Business, Allied Health or Healthcare Admin

Equivalent Experience and 3+ years relevant work experience.
• Master of Arts or Science (Preferred).
