Precision Tooling Specialist

Job Description

Summary:

As a Precision Tooling Specialist, you will operate with minimal supervision while utilizing your extensive knowledge and problem-solving skills. Expect to manage multiple assignments effectively within your shift.

Preferred Experience Includes:
• Hands-on experience with maintenance systems and the use of predictive technologies
• Understanding of industrial robotics, automation, and conveyance systems

Primary Responsibilities:
• Adhere to safety protocols following OSHA standards and company guidelines
• Perform maintenance, disassembly, repair, and replacement of mechanical and hydraulic components in various industrial machinery
• Design, assemble, maintain, and repair piping systems
• Utilize hand and power tools to measure, cut, thread, and solder piping systems
• Read and interpret blueprints related to conveyor systems and automation
• Operate mobile equipment, such as forklifts and cranes
• Assess loading requirements for rigging equipment
• Set up and operate both conventional and CNC machine tools for precision fabrication
• Fabricate tools and components to exact specifications
• Plan operational sequences for tool fabrication using technical drawings
• Ensure product quality by verifying dimensions and alignment with industry standards

Minimum Qualifications:
• At least six (6) years of experience in a related Mechanical trade or a U.S. Department of Labor Certificate of Completion in a Mechanical trade
• Ability to complete the General Motors hiring process, including assessments and background checks
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Eligible to work in the United States
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays with minimal notice
• This position is not eligible for immigration-related sponsorship

• The position may be filled as a Journeyperson or Journeyperson In Training, with competitive compensation based on credentials and interview performance.

Physical Requirements:
• Quick response to safety instructions and alarms is essential
• Ability to work and stand for extended periods
• Comfortable wearing personal protective equipment
• Ability to navigate a busy environment
• Physical capability to bend, twist, kneel, crouch, and reach
• May need to lift or carry materials up to 50lbs
• Occasional sitting during specific tasks
• Operating mobile equipment as necessary
