The lab of Dr. Dongjun Chung in the Department of Biomedical Informatics (BMI) at The Ohio State University (OSU) is seeking a highly motivated and talented Postdoctoral Scholar. In this role, you will develop statistical and computational approaches to improve the design and analysis of spatial multi-omics experiments. Current projects include (i) the development of novel statistical and computational approaches to determine and localize senescent cells (SnCs) in aging and diseased lungs, using single-cell and spatial omics data; and (ii) the development of novel statistical and computational approaches to improve the design of sequencing- and imaging-based spatial transcriptomics and spatial proteomics experiments. You will be part of a vibrant, interdisciplinary ecosystem, collaborating with experts in biostatistics, bioinformatics, computational biology, AI, genomics, and immunology, at OSU BMI, PIIO, and OSUCCC-James. You’ll have access to exceptional computational infrastructure, rich multi-omics datasets, and translational collaborations that bridge discovery to clinical impact.
Key Responsibilities
Develop novel statistical and computational approaches to improve the design and analysis of spatial multi-omics experiments.
Lead analyses of single-cell and spatial transcriptomics, especially those generated from aging and diseased lungs.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in immunology, genomics, oncology, and AI/ML.
Disseminate findings through high-impact publications and presentations at national/international conferences.
Qualifications
PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Bioinformatics, or related field.
Strong interest or background in bioinformatics, cancer genomics, or statistical genetics.
Experience with AI/ML, high-dimensional data analysis, or multi-omics integration is highly valued.
