Position Overview

The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center seek Radiation Oncologists (CNS, Thoracic, GI, and GU) to join the Department of Radiation Oncology. Academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience.

Responsibilities

Physician specializing in Radiation Oncology to serve as a member of the Department of Radiation Oncology; directs and provides direct and indirect patient care services in both inpatient and outpatient settings; conducts ambulatory clinics; interviews, obtains and reviews medical history of patients; performs physical examinations to assess medical or surgical needs; performs Radiation Therapy procedures; orders special procedures, diagnostic testing, and other ancillary services; responds to consultation requests; determines, prescribes and implements treatment plans and/or medications required; documents all services and instructions provided in medical record; educates patients and promotes wellness, prevention and early detection by providing materials, resources and services to patient and their families; directs and participates in quality assessment and improvement activities; serves as preceptor and provides bedside training of residents, fellows, medical students, undergraduate & graduate students, nursing staff, and other allied medical professionals in the specialty of Radiation Oncology; ensures continuing medical education requirements are met; participates in department, college, medical center and university committees and other service activities.

Requirements

Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), board certified or board eligible in specialization required. Completion of an accredited residency and fellowship (if applicable) training program required; Current or interim permit to practice medicine from the State of Ohio Medical Board required; Board certification or eligibility from the American Board of Radiation Oncology required; active certification from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) required; Sub-specialty board certification or eligibility from the American Board of Radiation Oncology preferred.
