Title: Physician, Nuclear Medicine & Theranostics (Bonus Opportunity) Job Type: RegularCompany: Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer CenterDepartment: Nuclear MedicineTime Type: Full timeWeekly Hours: 40FTE: 1Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Summary: About the Role The Nuclear Medicine Section within the Department of Diagnostic & Interventional Radiology at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Physician to join a nationally recognized academic cancer center at the forefront of oncologic imaging, theranostics, and radiopharmaceutical innovation. This is an exciting opportunity to practice within a highly collaborative multidisciplinary environment dedicated to advancing cancer diagnosis, treatment, and translational discovery. The successful candidate will join a growing Nuclear Medicine program that is rapidly expanding its theranostics and radiopharmaceutical therapy capabilities. Working alongside surgical oncologists, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, pathologists, and imaging specialists, this physician will play a key role in delivering advanced nuclear medicine services while contributing to education, innovation, and academic collaboration. This position is ideal for a physician who is passionate about oncologic imaging, theranostics, academic medicine, and multidisciplinary cancer care within a mission-driven and innovation-focused environment. What You'll Do • Provide expert Nuclear Medicine interpretation and oncologic imaging services within a multidisciplinary cancer center environment • Participate in PET/CT and SPECT/CT imaging interpretation and radiopharmaceutical therapy initiatives • Collaborate closely with oncology, surgery, pathology, radiation oncology, and multidisciplinary care teams to support comprehensive cancer diagnosis and treatment planning • Contribute to the continued development and expansion of Roswell Park's Theranostics Program • Support radiopharmaceutical therapy services within the dedicated Nuclear Medicine infusion center • Teach and mentor residents, fellows, graduate students, and trainees through the University at Buffalo Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and Roswell Park academic programs • Participate in multidisciplinary conferences, educational initiatives, and scholarly activities • Foster a collaborative academic environment grounded in mentorship, innovation, and continuous learning • Participate in translational imaging, theranostics, and clinical research initiatives • Contribute to programmatic growth and expansion of advanced nuclear medicine services across Roswell Park and regional satellite facilities • Collaborate with investigators and multidisciplinary research teams to advance innovative imaging and radiopharmaceutical therapy approaches • Support outreach initiatives aimed at expanding access to advanced nuclear medicine services within the community • Foster strong collaborative relationships across departments and specialties • Contribute to quality improvement, operational excellence, and patient safety initiatives • Support a culture aligned with High Reliability Organization principles emphasizing accountability, teamwork, innovation, and compassionate care About the Department The Nuclear Medicine Section within the Department of Diagnostic & Interventional Radiology at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center provides advanced oncologic imaging and theranostic services within one of only two NCI-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers in New York State. The department currently includes dedicated PET/CT and SPECT/CT imaging facilities across the main campus and regional satellite locations, with continued expansion underway. Roswell Park is deeply committed to building a premier Theranostics Program, highlighted by the opening of a dedicated Nuclear Medicine infusion center in March 2024 supporting the expansion of radiopharmaceutical therapies and precision oncology initiatives.
