Role Description The Physician Assistant will provide direct patient care in cardiology under the supervision of a licensed physician, working on-site in Redding, CA. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing focused histories and physical exams, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, assisting with treatment planning, and conducting follow-up visits for patients with cardiovascular conditions. The role involves managing chronic cardiac diseases, providing patient education on medications and lifestyle modifications, and coordinating care with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. The Physician Assistant will also document encounters in the medical record, support quality and safety initiatives, and contribute to a collaborative, patient-centered clinical environment. This is a part-time, on-site position.
Qualifications
- Current Physician Assistant license in the state of California and certification (NCCPA) in good standing.
- Experience or strong interest in cardiology or internal medicine, including management of common cardiovascular conditions.
- Ability to perform comprehensive histories and physical examinations, order appropriate tests, and formulate evidence-based treatment plans.
- Strong skills in clinical documentation, electronic health record (EHR) use, and adherence to regulatory and compliance standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to educate and support patients and their families in a clear, compassionate manner.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and to adapt to a dynamic clinical environment.
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program; prior outpatient or specialty clinic experience is preferred.
- CPR/BLS certification required; ACLS certification and bilingual language skills are beneficial.
