Role Description This part-time, on-site Physical Therapist Assistant role is based at Excel Physical Therapy & Lymphedema Clinic in Merrillville, IN. The Physical Therapist Assistant will work under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist to implement treatment plans, guide patients through therapeutic exercises, and support rehabilitation programs. Daily responsibilities include monitoring patient progress, maintaining accurate clinical documentation, preparing treatment areas and equipment, and reinforcing home exercise and safety instructions. The role also involves collaborating with the clinical team to ensure high-quality patient care, assisting with orthopedics and lymphedema-focused interventions, and contributing to a positive, professional clinic environment.

Qualifications




- Demonstrated skills in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation, with the ability to follow and implement treatment plans under therapist supervision.
- Strong Patient Care and Quality Patient Care skills, including empathy, clear communication, and attention to safety and comfort.
- Experience or interest in Orthopedics, with the ability to support patients recovering from orthopedic injuries or surgeries.
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program; current PTA license or eligibility for licensure in the state of Indiana.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and reliability in a clinical setting.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and to manage a part-time schedule in an on-site outpatient environment.
- Prior outpatient or lymphedema clinic experience is beneficial but not required; willingness to learn and participate in ongoing professional development.
