Job Description
Pharmacy Manager - Oncology / Hematology
Location: Boston, MA
Schedule: Regular 40 hours/week
Job Type: Permanent, Full-time
Pay: $160,000 - $180,000 (DOE)

What to Expect:
• 500+ Bed Level I Trauma Center in Boston
• Lead, support, and manage the oncology pharmacy team
• Develop strategies and initiatives for the department to improve patient care and satisfaction
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
• Collaborate with hospital leaders within and outside of pharmacy
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Management: Oversee daily pharmacy operations, medication management, and high-cost specialty drug utilization in ambulatory hematology/oncology, ensuring compliance and safety with minimal supervision. Develop policies/SOPs, lead projects, and provide on-call support.
Leadership and Human Resource Management: Lead and develop pharmacy staff through recruitment, scheduling, performance management, and training to build a high-performing team. Collaborate with interdisciplinary leaders and stay current on pharmacy trends.
Financial and Budget Management: Manage drug budgets and productivity by identifying cost-saving opportunities and optimizing staffing through strategic scheduling.
Clinical and Educational Collaboration: Partner with hematology/oncology teams to implement clinical programs that improve patient outcomes. Develop training and mentorship programs for staff, PGY2 residents, and students.
Quality Assurance and Process Improvement: Lead quality assurance and process improvement initiatives to enhance safety and efficiency. Partner with the medication safety officer on safety reports and align decisions with organizational values.
Minimum Qualifications
• PGY-1 and PGY-2 Pharmacy Specialty or HSPAL
• OR PGY-1 plus 2 years of pertinent full-time experience
• OR 4+ years of pertinent full-time experience
• Pharmacy degree from an accredited program (Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate)
• Active Pharmacy license in Massachusetts by start date
• Authorized to work in the U.S. (No visa sponsorship!)
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in Hematology / Oncology
• Advanced degree (Master's / MBA)
• Prior Leadership experience
