Job Description

Position Overview

Texas Oncology is seeking a PET/CT Technologist to join our team at the North Arlington, Texas location. This role may be offered at Level 1, Level 2, or Senior based on the candidate’s work experience. As the largest community oncology provider in the country, Texas Oncology delivers high-quality, evidence-based cancer care to patients—helping nearly half of all Texans diagnosed with cancer each year.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic PET imaging procedures including injection of radiopharmaceuticals, IV and/or oral contrast administration, protocol setup, patient positioning, image reconstruction, network transfers, and archiving of image data.

• Assist in procedure scheduling and related front office functions to ensure smooth workflow.

• Ensure accuracy of patient demographic information, report distribution, and patient files.

• Collect clinical data for patient follow-up and support the development of teaching and educational materials.

• Enforce safety standards for patients and self, including performing daily quality control checks of scanner performance.

• Report equipment malfunctions or the need for service promptly.

• Manage patient data and films, including printing, archiving, retrieval, and network transfers.

• Recognize contraindications and manage potential reactions related to IV contrast administration.

• Order necessary office, medical, and printing supplies.

Required Qualifications

• Level 1: Associates or Bachelors degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or Radiologic Technology from an AMA-accredited program with PET-CT certification; minimum three to five years’ nuclear medicine experience; CNMT (Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist) and/or ARRT (N) certification with applicable state licensure.

• Level 2: In addition to Level 1 requirements, a minimum of five years’ experience in nuclear medicine, including at least two years in PET or nuclear medical procedures.

• Level Sr: In addition to Levels 1 and 2, a Bachelors degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology, Radiologic Technology, or a related AMA-accredited field is required, along with a minimum of four years of nuclear medical PET experience.
