Duties
• Administer radiation therapy treatments accurately according to prescribed protocols, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process.
• Operate advanced medical equipment such as linear accelerators, CT scanners, and mammography units with proficiency.
• Collaborate with oncologists, radiologists, and medical physicists to develop individualized treatment plans based on detailed imaging studies.
• Conduct imaging procedures including CT scans and mammography to assist in precise targeting of radiation therapy.
• Monitor patients' physiological responses during treatment sessions, providing immediate care or adjustments as necessary.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of treatment details within electronic health records (EHR), ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
• Implement radiation safety procedures rigorously to protect patients, staff, and oneself from unnecessary exposure.
Skills
• Proficiency in operating complex medical equipment used in radiation therapy, including linear accelerators and CT scanners.
• Strong understanding of radiation physics principles and their application in clinical settings.
• Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology relevant to oncology treatments.
• Experience with mammography techniques and interpretation enhances treatment precision.
• Familiarity with radiation safety procedures and implementing protocols to minimize exposure risks.
• Ability to interpret medical terminology accurately for effective communication within multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications
• Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiation Therapy Technology
• Registered or Registry-Eligible Radiation Therapist
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience
• Kansas Radiology Technology License (Required)
• Registered or Registry-Eligible Radiologic Technologist RT(T) (Highly Preferred)
• BLS/CPR certification (AHA or American Red Cross) preferred, or must obtain within 90 days of hire
