Join our dedicated team as a Per Diem Registered Nurse in Adult Oncology! We have immediate openings across our Progressive Care Units (PCU), offering flexible day and night shifts.
As a valued team member, you will receive competitive compensation with additional shift differentials: 17% for Weekday Nights, 26% for Weekend Nights, and 15% for Weekend Day shifts.
This role offers flat rate compensation as follows:
• RN Per Diem I: $40.30/hour
• RN Per Diem II: $47.38/hour
• RN Per Diem III: $51.49/hour
We are currently hiring for various units, including:
• Adult Oncology
• Coronary Care Subacute
• Family Medicine Inpatient
• General Medicine/SAC
• General Medicine
• General Surgery/Transplant
• Trauma Subacute
• Orthopedics
• Surgical Specialty Unit
• Neuroscience
Job Summary: You will provide direct nursing care to patients in alignment with clinical specialties, promote a positive work environment, and ensure adherence to hospital policies and procedures. Care assignments will involve patients across all age groups from neonates to geriatrics.
The minimum work requirements vary by position level:
• RN Per Diem I: Two shifts per schedule, including one weekend shift and one holiday per season.
• RN Per Diem II: Four shifts per schedule, including two weekend shifts and one holiday per season.
• RN Per Diem III: Ten shifts per schedule, including two weekend shifts and one holiday per season.
Essential Functions:
• Deliver safe and effective nursing care to your assigned patient group.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to implement and document personalized care plans.
• Assist with tests and procedures, ensuring proper consent is obtained.
• Provide orientation and training to new staff upon completing preceptor training.
• Respond to emergencies effectively and maintain accurate medical records.
• Administer medications following safety protocols and keep the patient environment safe and therapeutic.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
• Experience: At least one year of relevant experience.
• Licenses/Certifications: Current RN license in the State of New Mexico, CPR certification (must be obtained within 30 days).
• Complete UNMH IV Verification within 6 months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish or other languages such as Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo.
• National certification in your specialty area.
Working Conditions:
• Environment: Exposure to chemicals and biohazards, requiring safety precautions.
• Physical Demands: Heavy work; may require lifting up to 100 pounds.
