How you'll make an impact in this role
Ascension is seeking a full-time APRN or PA with hematology/oncology experience to join the Dell Children's Medical Center team. In this role, you will work both independently and alongside a multidisciplinary team to deliver specialized inpatient medical services for pediatric hematology/oncology patients.
• Join our established team of physicians and advanced practice providers (APPs)
• Practice setting: inpatient
• Occasional opportunity to pick up extra shifts
• Employed position within a nonprofit health system
• Provide specialized inpatient care by conducting thorough histories, physical assessments, and clinical observations tailored to the unique needs of pediatric hematology/oncology patients.
• Formulate precise treatment strategies by ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies, ensuring timely and accurate interventions for complex blood disorders and cancers.
• Empower families and caregivers through compassionate counseling and education about preventative health, specialized treatment options, and essential community resources.
• Coordinate holistic patient support by managing health conditions directly and facilitating seamless referrals to specialized healthcare providers and support networks.
• Document the complete patient journey accurately and maintain high-quality medical records in accordance with specialty standards and network policies.

What minimum qualifications you'll need
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
• Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Drug Enforcement Admin credentialed from the Drug Enforcement Administration preferred.
Education:
• Master's degree in Nursing required.
