Job Description
Tulane University School of Medicine, in conjunction with the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Manning Family Children’s, is seeking a Pediatric Oncologist to join their expanding Pediatric Hematology-Oncology team in New Orleans. This role offers a unique opportunity to provide expert clinical care for children with malignancies in a multidisciplinary environment, engage in research, and contribute to the growth of a premier Pediatric Cancer and Blood Disorders Program in the Gulf South. The successful candidate will join a collaborative team and participate in academic missions, including medical education and quality improvement.
Practice Info
• Join a team of 10 Pediatric Hematologist-Oncologists, 5 APPs, 2 oncology pharmacists, 3 social workers, and dedicated child life specialists.
• Actively involved in the Children’s Oncology Group (COG), Alliance Cancer Trials, and other cooperative networks.
• Manning Family Children’s is a 263-bed, not-for-profit pediatric medical center.
• Offers a dedicated 24 bed Pediatric Hematology-Oncology (PHO) hospital floor and a newly renovated PHO outpatient clinic.
• Offers a FACT-accredited stem cell transplant program, the state’s only approved CAR-T cell program, and Casgevy and Lyfgenia gene therapies for treatment of sickle cell disease.
• Partners with LSU Health New Orleans and Tulane University School of Medicine for academic pediatric medical programs.
Responsibilities
• Provide expert clinical care for children and adolescents with malignancies.
• Contribute to coverage of the inpatient Pediatric Hematology-Oncology service.
• Establish an outpatient clinic practice.
• Work collaboratively with pediatric surgery, neurosurgery, radiation oncology, radiology, pathology and palliative care, among others, to deliver comprehensive multidisciplinary care.
• Participate in pediatric tumor boards, seminars, Grand Rounds, and institutional clinical trial efforts.
• Educate and mentor medical students, residents, and Pediatric Hematology-Oncology fellows as part of Tulane University and LSUHSC’s academic mission.
• Engage in scholarly activity within a variety of realms.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and help expand access to oncology services across the Gulf South region.

Requirements
• Board certified/eligible in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology.
• Licensed to practice medicine in Louisiana by the start date.
• Possess excellent interpersonal skills and be a team player.
• Expert patient care skills.
• Strong desire to share knowledge with students, residents and fellows.
• Ability to participate in advancing the quality of care at Manning Family Children’s.
• Expected to contribute to the growth of scholarly and educational activities within Tulane University’s School of Medicine.
• Interest in Neuro-Oncology is preferred but not required.
