Job Description
SCOPE: Estimate patient reasonability to identify patients that would be eligible for assistance programs through foundations, pharmaceutical companies and other entities. Maintain thorough records of patient enrollment activities
Functions
• Create Estimates for patients that have out of pocket responsibilities/Communicate estimates to patients.
• Screen patients for external assistance programs /apply patients for assistance programs.
• Record and maintain comprehensive documentation of patient enrollment activities
• Communicates with assistance biller, pharmaceutical assistance coordinator, clinic staff and pharmacy as needed.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
2 + years of experience in healthcare medical, clerical, or insurance/billing, preferably in oncology.
Knowledge of insurance benefits and billing guidelines.
