Pathologist

HCA Healthcare Pathology Services is seeking a PRN pathologist to provide coverage at HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital in Port Charlotte, FL. This role offers the opportunity to join a large network of over 200 board-certified multispecialty pathologists, contributing to favorable patient outcomes. The position involves comfortable handling of the full scope of AP and CP for community hospital practice.

Practice Info

• The practice consists of two pathologists who also remotely cover surgical and cytology volumes at HCA Florida Englewood Hospital.

• No gyn cytology or autopsy coverage is required.

• Oversight of laboratories within Free-Standing Emergency Departments associated with the two hospitals.

Responsibilities

• Provide coverage at HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital.

• Comfortably handle the full scope of AP and CP for community hospital practice.

• Perform procedures including frozen sections and rapid on-site assessments (less than 10 per week).

• Review approximately 4,000 surgical cases per year.

• Review approximately 1,000 non-gyn cytology cases per year.

• Review 5 peripheral smears per week.

• Review less than 1 blood bank review per week.
