Pathologist

Welcome to Allied Digestive Health, where we are seeking a dedicated Per Diem Pathologist to join our state-of-the-art, high-volume laboratory team in West Long Branch, New Jersey. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently, effectively, and accurately examining and diagnosing surgical specimens in full compliance with CLIA/CAP guidelines and other applicable regulations. The position offers flexible Monday through Friday scheduling with 8-hour shifts to accommodate organizational needs and your availability.

Responsibilities

• Review and interpret surgical pathology, cytology, and/or hematopathology specimens as assigned, accurately signing out and reading slides.

• Render accurate and timely diagnoses in accordance with established quality standards, prioritizing successful completion and notification of STAT and malignant cases.

• Prepare and finalize pathology reports within required turnaround times, meeting expectations of 90% of cases signed out within 24 hours.

• Consult with physicians and healthcare providers regarding diagnostic findings, patient management, and case reviews.

• Participate in quality assurance, quality improvement activities, and monthly computer-based quality control.

• Maintain compliance with all applicable regulatory, accreditation, laboratory standards, and Standard Operating Procedures.

• Provide guidance, support, and clear written communication to laboratory personnel regarding stains, consults, or case updates.

• Document findings, maintain records, and handle errors, addendums, and amended reports in accordance with organizational policies.

• Per diem/as-needed coverage.

• Flexible scheduling based on organizational needs and candidate availability.

• The shifts are 8 hours in length, M-F.

Requirements

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.

• Board Certification in Anatomic and/or Clinical Pathology.

• Active and unrestricted medical license in the applicable state(s).

• Demonstrated expertise in pathology diagnosis and reporting.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

• Ability to work independently and efficiently in a per-diem setting.
