Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Palliative Care Registered Nurse (RN), you will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to deliver compassionate and comprehensive care to adult patients and families dealing with chronic and life-limiting conditions. Your responsibilities will include direct patient care, education, thorough assessment, care planning, and coordination of services. You will be expected to navigate ambiguity with enthusiasm and contribute to the evolution of the RN role in our dynamic practice environment.
Your core responsibilities include: coordinating nursing care, providing direct patient services, educating patients and families, and facilitating transitions of care. You will exemplify professional nursing practices throughout various healthcare settings, ensuring that patient and family needs are met during their journey. Using the Mayo Clinic Nursing Professional Practice Model, you will take charge of planning, implementing, evaluating, and communicating nursing care phases for assigned patients, adhering to the ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice. You will also engage in leadership activities such as mentoring, quality improvement initiatives, and serve on committees or projects. In some cases, you may need to drive your personal vehicle for job responsibilities.
This role is eligible for TN sponsorship. To secure successful sponsorship, candidates must obtain state licensure and complete the VisaScreen or an equivalent certification.
Qualifications
You must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program. One year of RN experience is required, and applicants holding an associate degree must demonstrate completion of a baccalaureate degree in nursing within five years from their RN start date, based on individual circumstances (see original job description for specifics).
Preferred Qualifications:
A BSN is preferred alongside a minimum of two years of direct patient care experience. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential. We seek an individual who possesses leadership qualities, critical thinking capabilities, and strong interpersonal skills. Applicants must adapt to change and thrive in ambiguous situations.
License and Certification (to be obtained before start date):
Current RN license per state requirements. Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) certification must be obtained within 90 days of starting, with accepted certifying bodies including the American Heart Association (AHA), Military Training Network, and Red Cross (CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers). Additional state licenses and/or specialty certifications may be required based on the work area.

Compensation
The pay range for this role is $35.84 - $58.84. Our innovative nursing compensation model rewards experience, education, and dedication, allowing nurses to grow professionally and maximize their earning potential through our robust tuition reimbursement program.

This is a full-time position with a schedule of Monday through Friday, daytime hours with 8-hour shifts (7:30am - 5pm). There are no weekend shifts required.
