Palliative Care Physician

Elkhart General Hospital is seeking BC/BE Palliative Care Physicians to join our premier practice in Elkhart, Indiana. As part of Beacon Medical Group, providers will work within a dedicated, interdisciplinary team delivering patient-centered supportive care across inpatient services. This role emphasizes meaningful relationship-centered work, focusing on symptom management and goals-of-care conversations within a supportive, physician-led medical group.

Practice Info

• Elkhart General Hospital, a 254-staffed bed Level III Trauma Center in Elkhart, Indiana

• Anticipate crossover with Memorial Hospital of South Bend, a 434-bed Level II Trauma Center in South Bend, Indiana

• Dedicated, interdisciplinary Palliative Care team integrated across inpatient services

• Collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, social workers, chaplains, therapists, and care managers

• Affiliation with Indiana University School of Medicine at Notre Dame and Memorial Hospital Family Medicine Residency allows for teaching of residents, medical students and supervision of post-graduate trainees

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered supportive care integrated across inpatient services

• Address complex medical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team

• Focus on symptom management, goals-of-care conversations, complex decision-making, and family support

• Teach residents and medical students and supervise post-graduate trainees
