Position Overview:
The Hospital of Central Connecticut is excited to announce an opportunity for a dedicated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Palliative Care team! In this rewarding role, you will work alongside an attending physician and an interdisciplinary care team to provide exceptional palliative care services to patients and their families who are dealing with chronic serious or acute life-threatening illnesses, or those approaching end-of-life.
As an Advanced Practitioner (APP), you will be a specialist in pain and symptom management, focused on enhancing patient function and quality of life while navigating the complexities of their health conditions, including emotional, economic, and cultural considerations.

Role Responsibilities:
As a Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner, your responsibilities will include:
• Conducting routine physical examinations and developing comprehensive medical, educational, and psychosocial treatment plans.
• Collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to formulate health needs evaluations, including specialist referrals.
• Providing appropriate treatments as per established protocols, while identifying and referring issues outside of your scope of practice to a physician.

Requirements:
• Licensure: Unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License (or eligible)
• Training: Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year in palliative care preferred; National Board Certification in Palliative Care is a plus.
This is a salaried position. While compensation is presented as an hourly rate for consistency across our postings, this position is compensated on a salary basis. The hiring range is a good faith estimate of pay as of the posting date. Actual compensation will depend on qualifications, location, internal equity, and other factors that may include hiring bonuses, incentive pay plans, loan repayments, administrative stipends, or relocation assistance.
