Orthopaedic Musculoskeletal Oncology Surgeon

The University of Utah School of Medicine is seeking an orthopaedic surgeon-scientist for a faculty position with a clinical focus in surgical musculoskeletal oncology. The incumbent will become an integral part of a dynamic sarcoma orthopaedic team within an outstanding academic orthopaedic department. Candidates will also engage in the rich clinical and research environment of the multidisciplinary sarcoma program of the NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center at Huntsman Cancer Institute.

Responsibilities

• Engage in the rich clinical and research environment of the multidisciplinary sarcoma program

• Establish an independent scientific enterprise and mentor others to develop focused clinical, research and educational programs in musculoskeletal disorders

• Publish in peer-reviewed journals and present at national meetings

Requirements

• Completion of a residency in orthopaedic surgery

• One-year advanced fellowship training in musculoskeletal oncology or sarcoma orthopaedics, or equivalent

• Board certification or board eligibility

• Additional advanced training in basic investigation that can support the development of an extra-murally-funded research program is highly recommended

• Demonstrated exceptional academic interest and a clear track record of excellence in orthopaedics, including clinical care, education, and science research
