Role Description Seeking part-time, on-site optometry role based in Bellevue and Kirkland, WA. Preferred residency or experience in ocular disease. The clinician will perform comprehensive eye examinations, including refractions, contact lens evaluations, and assessment of ocular health for patients of varying ages and conditions. Day-to-day responsibilities include diagnosing and managing common eye diseases, co-managing surgical cases, and providing patient education on treatment plans and preventive care. The role also involves accurate documentation in the electronic health record system, collaboration with technicians and support staff, and participation in practice workflows to ensure efficient patient throughput and high-quality care. Occasional support for practice-wide initiatives such as quality improvement projects or patient outreach programs may be required.





Qualifications




- Licensed Doctor of Optometry (OD), with good standing and appropriate board certification or eligibility.
- Demonstrated proficiency in comprehensive eye exams, refraction, contact lens fitting, and diagnosis and management of common ocular conditions (e.g., glaucoma, cataracts, dry eye, retinal disease).
- Experience working in a clinical or hospital-based eye care setting, with familiarity using electronic health records and standard ophthalmic diagnostic equipment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain findings and treatment options clearly to patients and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary care teams.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice, continuing education, and adherence to clinical and ethical standards in ophthalmology and optometry.
- Ability to work part-time on-site in Bellevue and Kirkland, WA, maintaining reliability, professionalism, and a patient-centered approach within a busy clinical environment.
- Preferred: experience in co-management of surgical patients, residency or experience in ocular disease, and familiarity with medical and insurance documentation; commitment and heart for serving our community.
