Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Optician role based in Nashville, TN. The Optician will assist patients with selecting, fitting, and adjusting eyeglasses and other optical products, ensuring proper lens and frame choices based on prescriptions and lifestyle needs. Daily responsibilities include interpreting optical prescriptions, taking accurate measurements, and educating patients on lens options, coatings, and frame features. The role also involves coordinating closely with the optometrist, supporting eye exam flow, maintaining an organized optical dispensary, and providing clear, courteous communication to promote a positive patient experience. The Optician will process orders, perform quality checks on eyewear, and help resolve any product or service concerns promptly and professionally.

Qualifications




- Technical knowledge in Optics and Optometry to interpret prescriptions and recommend appropriate lenses and frames.
- Strong Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction skills to support patients throughout their visit and ensure a positive experience.
- Ability to support Eye Exams by training and assisting staff with pre-testing, managing patient flow, and coordinating with clinical staff.
- Attention to detail and manual dexterity for measuring, fitting, and adjusting eyewear accurately.
- Effective communication skills and a professional, empathetic approach when interacting with patients and colleagues.
- Experience in an optical, optometry, or healthcare setting is preferred; relevant certification or licensure as an Optician is a plus.
- Basic computer skills for managing patient records, orders, and scheduling; ability to learn practice-specific software.
