Job Description
Oncology Sales Specialist (Field-based) — Eastern Long Island, NY (incl. parts of Nassau & Suffolk)
Key Responsibilities Attain or exceed assigned sales goals for the territory.
Engage customers and stakeholders to understand practice structure, business model, influencers; build relationships and trust.
Use approved messaging/resources to communicate patient-centered rationale for oncology products.
Demonstrate knowledge of multidisciplinary care, cancer staging, treatment options/pathways/guidelines, and patient impact.
Analyze buying trends across distribution channels (GPOs, wholesalers, specialty pharmacies).
Evaluate patterns in products purchased/prescribed (outpatient vs inpatient infusion; hospital/GPO contracts).
Develop and execute short- and long-term account plans with local team and Oncology Customer Team Leader.
Ask insightful questions to understand customer priorities and needs.
Maintain a consistent customer experience across teams; share learnings with Customer Team Leader, Key Account Manager, Nurse Educator, Field Reimbursement Associate, Medicare Account Executive, etc.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree + 8+ years sales OR high school diploma + 10+ years equivalent experience.
2+ years oncology field-based experience selling an oncology therapeutic.
Valid driver’s license; ability to drive.
Travel as required; includes overnight travel ~10–15%.
Reside in/within reasonable distance to the district.
Preferred Oncology field sales or clinical oncology experience.
Proven performance in sales/marketing or oncology clinical role.
Required/Preferred Skills (high level) Account management, customer engagement/customer focus, business relationship building, market analysis, sales pipeline/reporting, strategic thinking, product knowledge, clinical/oncology knowledge.
