Oncology RN

Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive nursing care to oncology patients across the treatment continuum (diagnosis, active treatment, survivorship, palliative).
• Administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, blood products, and supportive infusions in accordance with safety protocols and provider orders.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments, monitor treatment responses, and manage symptoms and side effects proactively.
• Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment plans, medications, side-effect management, and available support resources.
• Collaborate closely with oncologists, pharmacists, social workers, and the broader care team to coordinate individualized care plans.
• Maintain accurate electronic health records, documentation, and treatment protocols in compliance with regulatory and facility standards.
• Adhere to infection control, safety, and chemotherapy handling guidelines, including use of personal protective equipment and safe disposal processes.
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, case conferences, and quality-improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
• Advocate for patient needs, ensuring compassionate, culturally sensitive, and ethical care delivery at all stages of illness.
