Chemotherapy Registered Nurse (Chemo RN)Location: Bethesda, MDPay Rate: $45-$50/hourPosition Type: Contract-to-HireNurseAmerica is seeking an experienced and compassionate Chemotherapy Registered Nurse (RN) to join a leading outpatient oncology practice in Bethesda, MD. This Contract-to-Hire opportunity is ideal for nurses with chemotherapy and infusion experience who are passionate about delivering exceptional patient-centered cancer care.The Chemotherapy RN plays a critical role in administering chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and supportive oncology treatments while ensuring patient safety, education, and ongoing clinical support throughout the treatment journey.Key ResponsibilitiesSafely prepare and administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biologic therapies, and supportive infusion treatments according to established oncology protocolsPerform comprehensive patient assessments, including review of laboratory results, vital signs, treatment plans, and overall clinical statusMonitor patients during and after treatment for adverse reactions and treatment-related complicationsPerform venipuncture and access, maintain, and troubleshoot implanted ports, PICC lines, and central venous access devicesCollaborate with physicians and advanced practice providers regarding treatment plans, symptom management, and dose modificationsEducate patients and caregivers regarding chemotherapy regimens, side effects, symptom management, and follow-up careProvide emotional support and advocacy throughout the cancer treatment processVerify treatment orders, consents, and required authorizations prior to therapy administrationMaintain accurate and timely clinical documentationAssist with patient triage, telephone assessments, scheduling, and coordination of careEnsure compliance with OSHA standards, infection control practices, and hazardous drug handling protocolsMaintain treatment areas, supplies, and infusion equipment according to safety and quality standardsServe as a clinical resource and mentor to LPNs, Medical Assistants, and less-experienced nursing staffParticipate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing oncology educationQualificationsGraduate of an accredited nursing programActive Maryland RN License or Compact RN LicenseCurrent BLS CertificationMinimum 1 year of Oncology Nursing or Infusion Nursing experience preferredChemotherapy administration experience strongly preferredONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Provider Card strongly preferredOncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification preferredStrong clinical assessment, communication, and organizational skillsWork EnvironmentOutpatient Oncology and Infusion ClinicDay Shift ScheduleExposure to chemotherapy agents, biologics, hazardous medications, and communicable diseasesFrequent standing, walking, and occasional lifting up to 40 poundsWhy Join This Opportunity?Competitive pay rate of $45-$50/hourContract-to-Hire career pathwayCollaborative and supportive oncology teamOpportunity to provide life-changing care to oncology patientsApply today and become part of a team committed to excellence in cancer care.Questions?
