Job Description
## Lead the Future of Hematology Sales at GSK
GSK’s US Oncology team is searching for a transformational Regional Sales Director (RSD) to drive performance and shape cancer care across the Northeast. This is a front-line leadership role for someone who can blend strategic vision with hands-on execution, translating enterprise and brand priorities into actionable regional plans. You’ll lead a team of Oncology Account Managers within a territory covering New Jersey, Seattle, Washington DC, Pennsylvania, North Maryland, and parts of New York (Long Island, NYC, Brooklyn, Queens). This is a field-based position where most of your time is spent on the road visiting customers and supporting your team; overnight travel up to 35% is expected, and a valid driver’s license is essential.
### Core Responsibilities
As RSD, you’ll be accountable for sales excellence, marketplace acceleration, business planning, talent development, and disciplined execution. You will regularly engage senior leaders, including the Head of Oncology Business Unit and Sales VP, presenting clear tactical plans to achieve accelerated performance. Your work involves:
- Leading the execution and acceleration of GSK’s hematology business, aligning with organizational goals and brand priorities
- Translating national and area strategy into high-impact regional execution plans that improve customer engagement and patient impact
- Building tactical plans to address marketplace opportunities, execution gaps, competitive dynamics, and performance barriers
- Ensuring field sales representatives are deeply accountable for metrics and outcomes
- Leveraging technology and AI to enhance customer interactions and tool adoption
- Cultivating a positive, inclusive culture for your team
You must have a deep understanding of the local and regional oncology landscape—treatment trends, competitive dynamics, referral pathways, customer decision-making, and evolving patient influences. You’ll integrate regional healthcare ecosystem trends (academic accounts, community oncology, IDNs, pathways, access) into business planning. Using data and field insights, you’ll challenge assumptions, sharpen strategy, and improve execution quality.
### Who We’re Looking For
We seek professionals with:
- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- 8+ years of successful pharmaceutical or biotech commercial experience (at least 3 in Oncology preferred)
- Experience leading teams (including leadership development programs)
- Proven ability to lead product launches or launch acceleration in a specialty/oncology environment
- Strong clinical and business acumen, exceptional presentation skills, and the willingness to travel
Ideal candidates are passionate about building a culture rooted in accountability, performance, learning, collaboration, and inclusion. This leader will inspire bold thinking, decisive action, innovation, and consistent delivery of exceptional results for patients, customers, and the business.
### Compensation & Benefits
The US annual base salary for this role ranges from **$181,500 to $302,500**, depending on skills, experience, education, and market location. In addition, the position offers an annual bonus and eligibility to participate in our share-based long-term incentive program. Benefits include health care and other insurance (for employee and family), retirement benefits, paid holidays, vacation, and paid caregiver/parental and medical leave.
### Why GSK?
We are a global biopharma company with a purpose: to unite science, technology, and talent to get ahead of disease together.
