Job Summary And Qualifications

Administer Radiation Therapy to patients per physician order and under the guidance of qualified physician. Medical devices in use include Linear Accelerators, CT scanner, and Mosaiq RV system.*

Verify / document prescribed treatment dose before treatment, verify all fields, field sizes, collimator angles, gantry angles and any other aspect of the treatment prior to initiating therapy.*

Performs a timeout procedure prior to the initiation of therapy by asking patient name, date of birth, and site of treatment. (Staff must ensure patient points to actual treatment site including laterality).*

Ensure accurate placement of all treatment devices, aids, MLC.*

Place and immobilize patient to ensure accurate treatment. Maintain constant visual and verbal contact with the patient during treatment to assure patient remains in proper position.*

Chart treatment details accurately and neatly in the patient record. Check thoroughly for any mathematical or documentation errors.*

Provides for all appropriate imaging prior to patient treatment. Ensures accuracy of such imaging in relation to the patient’s treatment field.*

Capable of performing necessary device fabrication. Includes blocks, cutouts, bolus etc.*

Initiates and documents appropriate teaching to patient and family as required.*

Able to perform CT / simulation with minimal supervision.*

Able to operate Mosaiq accurately. *

with special event/screening per year.*

What qualifications you will need:

Experience

Preferred: 1-2 years’ experience as a Radiation Therapist preferred.

EDUCATION

Required:

Graduate of an accredited school of Radiation Therapy.

Must be ASRT credentialed or board eligible.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

Required: ASRT Certified RT (T) or board eligible.
