Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Oncology Program Director to lead the coordination of new oncology initiatives and enhance existing services. In this role, you will work collaboratively with physicians, executive leadership, and community marketing teams to develop and implement strategies that align with our mission and support oncology service line goals.
Position Requirements
• Valid nursing license.
• Completed a nursing diploma or degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of three years of experience in Oncology.
• Proven leadership abilities and strong communication skills.
• Experience coordinating patient care delivery related to cancer services.
• Familiarity with standard patient care equipment and adaptability to work in a variety of settings. Equipment: Network Computer System, Fax Machine.
• Experience in diverse oncology/medical/surgical units and office environments.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Able to stand or work for up to eight hours daily.
• Willingness to travel as needed for cancer-related functions.
• Capability to lift up to 50 lbs with assistance.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee and coordinate the Oncology Program’s activities to ensure quality, growth, and successful certifications.
• Monitor oncology patient volumes and processes to guarantee timely access to services.
• Collaborate with leadership and physicians to enhance existing and develop new oncology services and strategies.
• Ensure adherence to standards set by the Commission on Cancer Accreditation (COC) and maintain oversight to meet all requirements.
• Uphold standards of the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers, ensuring compliance through supervision of personnel.
• Coordinate and report on quality assurance and improvement activities with the Director of Patient Safety and Quality.
• Participate in the development and management of the Oncology Navigation program.
• Supervise operations concerning outsourced cancer registry services and internal data tracking.
• Facilitate and attend Cancer Committee and Tumor Conference meetings, ensuring adequate conferences for cancer volume.
• Demonstrate clinical expertise, serving as a resource for providers and clinical staff, fostering a team approach to patient care. Provide education on oncology services.
• Build and maintain relationships with physicians and healthcare partners to identify growth opportunities.
• Assist the Marketing Department in strategizing promotional efforts for Oncology Services in collaboration with Cancer and Breast Committees.
