ABOUT THE ROLE
We are in search of an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our esteemed Cellular Therapy and Blood Cancers Inpatient clinic. This position at the Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center, recognized as a National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center, involves working in a collaborative team of professionals dedicated to managing patients with hematologic malignancies such as leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, and myelodysplastic syndromes. You will play a critical role in caring for patients undergoing intensive treatments, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and cellular therapies.
SCHEDULE: 10 shifts (no weekends or holidays)

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Required:
• Preferred Advanced Practice Provider experience in an inpatient setting.
Education:
• Master's degree or higher in nursing or completion of an accredited Advanced Practice Education Program. Must have appropriate Texas Board of Nursing authorization.
• Graduate of a Master's degree or higher Physician Assistant program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA).
Licenses and Certifications:
• Licensure as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (CPNP-AC) by Texas State Board of Nursing with prescriptive authority OR
• Licensed by the Texas Physician Assistant Board AND
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications based on UT Southwestern policy for Advanced Practice Providers.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
• Conduct comprehensive initial and ongoing physical examinations and document findings.
• Synthesize data to develop, implement, and evaluate patient plans of care, including ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies.
• Demonstrate expertise in technical and procedural skills pertinent to specialty.
• Provide management, referrals, and education to patients and caregivers regarding care and preventive health measures.
• Engage in quality improvement initiatives to enhance clinical practice performance.
• Participate in research projects and apply evidence-based best practices to patient care.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
