Oncology Pharmacist (Infusion Pharmacy)
to join their growing team.
Salary/Hourly Rate
$165k Annually
Position Overview
The Oncology Pharmacist (Infusion Pharmacy) will provide comprehensive oncology pharmacy services within an Infusion Pharmacy setting. This role requires strong clinical judgment and collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective medication management. Responsibilities include oncology order verification, IV admixture oversight, medication safety initiatives, and compliance with USP-797 and USP-800 standards.
Responsibilities For Oncology Pharmacist (Infusion Pharmacy)
• Review, verify, and process oncology treatment orders.
• Ensure appropriate dosing, labeling, and quality of medications.
• Supervise sterile and non-sterile IV admixture preparation.
• Oversee Pharmacy Technician workflow and productivity.
• Monitor medication regimens for safety, efficacy, and drug interactions.
• Identify and resolve medication-related issues.
• Conduct medication histories and respond to drug information requests.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient care.
• Educate pharmacy and clinical staff on chemotherapy regimens and medication management.
• Participate in quality improvement and medication safety initiatives.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory, legal, and accreditation standards.
• Utilize EHR and pharmacy information systems to support patient care.
Required Experience/Skills For Oncology Pharmacist (Infusion Pharmacy)
• Active New York State Pharmacist license.
• Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties (BPS) certification.
• Minimum of 2 - 4 years of oncology pharmacy experience.
• Strong clinical judgment and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with EHRs and pharmacy information systems.
• Knowledge of USP-797 and USP-800 guidelines.
Preferred Experience/Skills For The Oncology Pharmacist (Infusion Pharmacy)
• 2+ years of oncology pharmacy experience.
• Previous Infusion Pharmacy experience.
• Experience documenting clinical interventions and recommendations.
Education Requirements
• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) is required.
