This PRN (per diem) role offers flexibility while delivering meaningful care in our cancer institute.

### Schedule & Shifts

This position is day shift, Monday through Friday from 6:45am to 5:15pm, with Saturday hours 9am–3pm. As a Per Diem team member, you’ll work at least 12 shifts every 6 weeks, including one Saturday shift. New hires undergo training consisting of 4-day, 10-hour weekly shifts for about 4–8 weeks, depending on experience. The per diem rate is **$43.33 per hour**.

### What You’ll Do

You will conduct comprehensive assessments covering physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors. Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, regularly evaluating and revising them. Administer medications and treatments accurately, following physician orders and hospital protocols, while monitoring for adverse reactions. Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies to promote understanding and compliance. Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care, ensuring effective communication and teamwork. Maintain accurate, timely documentation of patient information, care activities, interventions, and outcomes. Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of care plans and interventions, making necessary adjustments to improve patient health. Ensure compliance with infection control protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. Provide emotional support and therapeutic communication to patients and their families. Supervise and delegate care provided by other healthcare team members. Engage in ongoing professional development and participate in performance improvement activities. Respond to code situations promptly and effectively, providing necessary interventions to stabilize patients.

### What We’re Looking For

You should have an Associate’s Degree in Nursing (required); a Bachelor’s in Nursing is preferred. At least 1 year of experience in an acute care hospital setting is preferred. Strong organizational and multitasking skills are essential, along with knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures. You must be able to work as a team player, communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, and solve problems efficiently. Basic computer skills—especially navigating Microsoft Windows programs—are required. You should be fluent in English (reading, verbal, and written). The ability to use abstract reasoning to assess patients, evaluate interventions, and revise care plans based on outcomes is important.

### Licenses & Certifications

You must hold an active Registered Nurse (RN) license and have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (both required). ### Compensation & Location

The pay range for this role is **$31.85 – $52.76 per hour**, with a per diem rate of $43.33. The position is located at Advent. Health Cancer Institute, 2501 N Orange Ave, Orlando, Florida 32804. This is an onsite role—you’ll work within our hospital and clinic setting. Certain positions require Florida Level 2 background screening, including fingerprinting. Advent.
