Job Description
Covenant Health Oncology Group is seeking a dedicated Oncology Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to provide comprehensive cancer care to patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. This role involves collaborating with supervising physicians and the TOG provider team to deliver high-quality hematology-oncology care. The successful candidate will manage a dynamic daily clinic, addressing patient needs from primary care services to complex chemotherapy side effect management.

Responsibilities
• Triage telephone calls from patients, physicians, hospitals, and home health and hospice agencies requiring medical intervention
• Perform evaluation and treat acute patient problems, including oncologic emergencies and chemotherapy related side effects
• Perform history, physical examination, analyze data for appropriate diagnosis and treatment, and initiate plans of care for inpatient and office consults
• Provide routine follow-up examinations and make recommendations for adjustments to plans of care
• Provide pre-treatment chemotherapy education to patients and their families
• Assist with preparation, administration, and supervision of chemotherapy as staff and physician coverage may require
• Provide first call coverage and assist with morning or evening hospital rounds as required
• Serve as a resource person for other staff personnel
Shift & Schedule
• Full Time, 80 Hours Per Pay Period, Day Shift
• Weekend call requirement four times a year where the APP will round in the hospital (with physician support) on Saturday and Sunday
Requirements
• Must have and maintain certification by American Nurses Association or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners as an Adult, Family or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
• Must meet State of Tennessee requirements as a Nurse Practitioner
• 1 year of NP/PA experience preferred
• Certification in Oncology by the Oncology Nurses Society preferred
• No visa sponsorship available
