Job Title: Oncology Nurse

The Oncology Nurse plays a critical role in supporting patients through diagnosis, treatment, recovery, and long-term care management. The Oncology Nurse is responsible for assessing patient conditions, administering medications, monitoring treatment responses, and educating patients regarding treatment plans and symptom management. The Oncology Nurse collaborates with interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans that address physical, emotional, and psychological patient needs. The Oncology Nurse position requires strong clinical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to provide compassionate support during challenging healthcare experiences.

Responsibilities:
• Provide direct nursing care to patients receiving oncology-related treatments.

• Administer medications, intravenous therapies, blood products, and supportive treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor patients for side effects, complications, and treatment-related symptoms.
• Educate patients and family members regarding medications, treatment plans, and recovery expectations.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to coordinate patient care plans.
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records and nursing documentation.
• Provide emotional support and guidance to patients and caregivers.
• Assist with symptom management and pain control interventions.
• Monitor vital signs and report significant patient condition changes promptly.
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention protocols and healthcare regulations.
• Support discharge planning and continuity of patient care.
• Participate in healthcare quality improvement initiatives and nursing education programs.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and ethical nursing standards.
• Provide patient advocacy throughout treatment and recovery processes.
Education:
• Associates Nursing or Diploma (Nurse) Nursing or Bachelors Nursing-Preferred
Certifications:
• BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor or BLS - Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS - Amer Red Cross Basic Life Support
• RN - Reg Nurse (Single State) or RN-COMPACT - RN - Multi-state Compact
