About the Role
As an Oncology Nurse, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with departmental standards. You will work collaboratively with medical professionals and support staff to deliver personalized care, following nursing models such as 'Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.' Additionally, you will advocate for patients and their families, ensuring a compassionate and outstanding care experience.
Your Responsibilities will include:
• Assessing patient conditions during admission and throughout your shifts, with prompt reporting of any changes.
• Performing medical procedures and monitoring as directed by physicians, ensuring thorough documentation of care in patient records.
• Administering medications and monitoring responses, ready to act if any adverse reactions occur.
• Providing exceptional patient care by anticipating needs and responding promptly to requests.
• Educating patients and families about medical conditions, treatment plans, and medications to ensure their understanding.
Qualifications:
• One year of registered nursing experience preferred.
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
• Current active licensure with the North Carolina Board of Nursing; eNLC (Enhanced Nurse License Compact) license may apply.
• BLS Healthcare Provider certification required; Chemotherapy certification preferred (with grace period for obtaining).
• National Certification in specialty area preferred.
