## About the role and the work you’ll do
The MSL/Sr. MSL serves as the local medical voice of AZ in the disease area of interest, thoracic cancer, and builds a local medical strategy to improve patient care and outcomes in their territory. The MSL/Senior MSL is an established field‑based professional with extensive scientific, clinical and therapeutic area expertise responsible for providing medical and scientific support for Astra. Zeneca's oncology marketed products, new indications for current products, and compounds in development.
You will establish yourself as a trusted scientific advisor, peer, and expert to both internal collaborators and external HCPs and will function as an expert in response to scientific questions. You will synthesize HCP insights from multiple HCP segments within a region and communicate those insights with internal collaborators, serving as a point of reference for the integration of science into proposed business strategies, training, and resources.
You will synthesize and integrate research and summarize findings in a compelling narrative for various HCP segments, and build strong collaboration with key collaborators across Medical Affairs, Commercial, and Development. You will drive guideline sharing within and outside the organization and help apply them to work processes within Field Medical Affairs. In some situations you will serve as a lead for clinical trials, research activities, and special projects.
Coaching others is part of the role: you will support other team members to develop strong working relationships in different external business settings (e.g. academia, hospitals, managed markets, private practices), support creative and innovative ideas while recognizing contributions to team/project success, provide input on MSL training content, assist with MSL onboarding, and serve as a ‘buddy’ to new MSL hires.
