## Oncology Medical Science Liaison/Sr Medical Science Liaison — Upstate New York/Connecticut

We work on groundbreaking science with one of the broadest and deepest Oncology pipelines in the business, and we want someone who can apply scientific and clinical expertise to advance that pipeline and improve patient outcomes.

In this field-based role you will serve as the local medical voice of Astra. Zeneca in the disease area of interest, building a tailored local medical strategy to meet AZ USMA priorities while addressing local specificities and patient needs. You will provide medical and scientific support for marketed oncology products, new indications, and compounds in development. Expect to develop strong working relationships across academic centres, hospitals, managed markets and private practices, and to lead scientific exchanges with oncologists, urologists and key members of the multidisciplinary team.

You will:

- Lead peer-to-peer scientific and medical interactions and gather insights on the treatment landscape, evolving healthcare environment and practice, barriers to optimal treatment and opportunities to improve outcomes for patients with cancer.

- Communicate internally the insights and findings you collect, and propose actions that can improve patient care and outcomes.

- Discuss data and educational gaps with KOLs to ensure appropriate use of our medicines and to inform R&D strategy.

- Summarize clinical data into accurate, balanced information and convey the most relevant points clearly and concisely.

- Stay current with scientific knowledge including marketed and emerging products, competitors’ activities, key healthcare trends, anatomy & physiology, pathophysiology in relevant disease states, and current therapeutic interventions.

- Attend relevant scientific meetings and conferences and collaborate with Clinical Operations on Phase 3 trials from feasibility to execution.

- Discuss and follow-up on ESRs.

Essential requirements:

- Advanced scientific degree required (i.e. Pharm D, MD/DO, Ph. D, PA or NP) in a relevant health science or clinical discipline.

- 2+ years of MSL experience or relevant therapeutic area experience.

- Demonstrated expertise in discussing scientific content and context to multiple audiences and the ability to express ideas clearly in written documentation, one-on-one conversations and in small group dialogues.

- Ability to work independently and in groups and to navigate within a matrixial environment.

- Strong understanding of clinical study design and protocols.

- Basic understanding of the Healthcare system, clinical trial methodology, statistics and regulatory environment.

- Excellent project management ability.

- Ability to travel (40-60% by car and plane domestic).

Desireable: Doctorate strongly preferred in a health science or clinical discipline.

Territory includes: New York state (not NYC or LI), Connecticut and Northern New Jersey.

Compensation and benefits: The annual base salary for this position ranges from $174,455-$261,682. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles) or to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
