As an Oncology Infusion Nurse, you will deliver holistic, high-quality nursing care in our outpatient Infusion Centers, focusing on a diverse patient population. Your responsibilities will include:
• Conducting thorough patient assessments and managing symptoms while educating patients and families
• Administering chemotherapy and biotherapy safely, along with infusions, injections, and transfusions
• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care throughout treatment and follow-up
• Coordinating with provider offices to schedule infusion visits for patients
• Triage patients by utilizing pathways and communicating with physicians regarding symptoms and necessary referrals
• Managing a caseload of patients undergoing various infusion and oral therapies
• Effectively handling a complex workload to provide the highest quality of care
• Communicating proficiently with various stakeholders to achieve optimal outcomes
• Engaging in continuous professional development and promoting safety and patient experience
• Implementing clinical support programs to ensure optimal care across the healthcare continuum
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
• Current Connecticut RN License
• OCN Chemotherapy/Biotherapy card (or obtain within the first month of hire)
Education:
• BSN strongly preferred
Experience:
• Two (2) years of previous Oncology Nursing experience strongly preferred
