Job Description
Join our team at Providence Strategic And Management Services, where we focus on patient-focused, whole-person care. As an Oncology Data Specialist, you will be responsible for abstracting newly diagnosed cancer cases, assisting with case identification, and performing quality control procedures on data. In this role, you'll also respond to data inquiries, maintain database records, extract data, and submit reports to state and/or central registries.
To be considered, you need a college-level curriculum in Cancer Data Management (or equivalent education/experience), and upon hire, you must obtain the National Oncology Data Specialist certification through the National Cancer Registrars Association. Preferred qualifications include an Associate's Degree, coursework or training in Anatomy and Physiology, experience abstracting newly diagnosed cancer cases, experience working in an ACo. S-approved Cancer Registry, and familiarity with Cancer Registry software like ONCOLog.
