Job Overview
Under the direct supervision of the Director, Cancer Center at Community Medical Center, the Coordinator of oncology data services is responsible for cancer registry oversight.
Qualifications Required
• High School Diploma/GED
• Training in medical terminology
Licenses/Certification Required
• Certified Tumor Registrar
Schedule
• Full-Time
• Days
• Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm
• Role will be predominantly on-site with the possibility of working remotely in a limited capacity.
Essential Functions
• The coordinator ensures quality and timeliness of case finding, abstraction, and follow-up functions according to departmental procedures and regulatory cancer case reporting guidelines
• The coordinator is responsible for the education and training of staff and case abstraction to support timely submission
• The role also assists with cancer program accreditation and monitoring of compliance to accreditation standards
• Ensures accurate and timely data and/or reports requested by physicians
• Oversees the reporting of all appropriate cancer cases to state and federal agencies to ensure proper reporting as required
• Carefully reviews patient health records to record pertinent patient and tumor-related information as required by the state and federal regulations
• Acts as a resource for staff and others as needed
