We seek an accomplished Oncology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for our Hematology & Oncology division. This is a unique opportunity for someone wanting to remain clinically active while helping to influence the future of cancer care.
The Oncology Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant will collaborate with a multidisciplinary health team to deliver outstanding care mainly in an outpatient setting. Your responsibilities will include:
• Providing comprehensive care management for patients with acute and chronic oncological and hematological conditions.
• Conducting thorough assessments, understanding diagnoses, and executing treatment plans, while also focusing on health promotion and care coordination.
• Educating and counseling patients and families on treatments and wellness.
You will work under physician oversight and ensure that your practice aligns with state regulations, applicable policies, and practice agreements.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage and treat patients with hematological and oncological diseases using accepted medical standards.
• Demonstrate deep clinical knowledge, perform comprehensive physical assessments, order diagnostic studies, and interpret results effectively.
• Synthesize data for developing and adjusting care plans as required.
• Establish coordinated patient care with a focus on family involvement.
• Maintain meticulous documentation in the electronic medical record.
Preferred Qualifications:
• APRN or PA-C licensure in Nevada, with the capability to obtain needed certifications prior to employment.
• A minimum of 1 year of oncology experience as an APC or 3 years as an RN in oncology.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records, particularly EPIC.
