The Concierge serves as the first point of contact for guests, managing front desk operations and ensuring a welcoming, safe, and supportive environment. This role assists with guest check-in/out, responds to inquiries, and coordinates transportation and security.
This is a Limited Part-Time position scheduled based on business needs and will typically work less than 20 hours per week.
The primary staffing need is for evening, overnight, and weekend coverage. But candidates with flexible availability across daytime, evenings and weekends are strongly preferred!
Pay rate: $19.50/hour plus applicable shift differential for qualifying hours.
Shift Differential Pay
• 10% — Monday through Friday for hours worked after 6:00 PM
• 15% — Saturday and Sunday
• 20% — Hours worked between 12:00 AM and 5:30 AM
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Greet guests and manage check-in and check-out procedures (30%)
• Provide information about lodge amenities and community resources (20%)
• Coordinate transportation and EMPOWER Program services and schedules (15%)
• Respond to guest requests, concerns, and emergencies (15%)
• Maintain an organized front desk area and accurate guest records (10%)
• Monitor lobby security and implement safety protocols (10%)
Depending on the assigned shift, responsibilities may also include supporting evening guest arrivals, responding to overnight guest needs, maintaining front desk coverage, completing documentation, and preparing the lodge for the next shift.
EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Additional education or training in hospitality management or customer service is a plus.
• Previous experience in hospitality, guest services, hotel/front desk operations, nonprofit services, healthcare-adjacent services, or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of customer service experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and multitask
• Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and multi-line phone systems
• Ability to maintain accurate guest records and follow established procedures
• Dependable, professional, and comfortable working with cancer patients and caregivers
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, overnight shifts, and weekends
• Ability to remain calm and responsive when addressing guest concerns or unexpected situations
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
• Minimal travel required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• The role may require extended periods of standing and walking, particularly during front desk duties and while assisting guests.
• Occasional lifting and moving of luggage, packages, supplies, or other items may be necessary when assisting guests with check-in, check-out, or transportation.
• Some manual tasks, such as carrying luggage or opening doors for guests, may be required during guest interactions.
• The role may involve physical endurance to handle the demands of a fast-paced environment, including managing multiple tasks and assisting guests throughout the shift.
